Celebration Service for Harold Wilfred Richardson

We are saddened to announce the passing of Harold who went home peacefully to our Father in Heaven on Sunday, February 7th at the age of 88 years old. He is mourned by his beloved wife, Marie; their two children and spouses; Gary & Karen Richardson and Leigh-Ann & Duncan Taylor and his treasured grandchildren, Joshua, Wesley & Rachel, Kassandra and Jenna.

Harold was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on January 20, 1933 and immigrated to Nanaimo, British Columbia in 2002, to venture life in Canada and be part of his precious children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

He has always enjoyed and embraced each day as a gift, with kindness, love, positivity and courage – despite having health challenges with Cancer. Being part of family activities, gatherings and celebrations was important to him.

He always trusted and had faith in God. He loved his friends and St. Andrews Church, where he played the piano and sang in the choir. He also enjoyed being part of the Old Rubber Band where he brought pleasure to so many people in the community, and has left a lasting legacy. We will cherish the wonderful memories we hold in our hearts forever and are so grateful to see God’s evidence in it all, which brings peace, love, and comfort, especially for mom!

A Celebration service will be live streamed on Saturday, March 6, at 10am.

In Lieu of flowers, Marie asked that the donations be made to the  BC Cancer Foundation or St. Andrew’s Church.

A livestream of the service will be linked here. Please check back on February 28th for more information.
